Minister of the Environment Madis Kallas signed a regulation reducing the area of regeneration cutting of the state forest from 10,490 hectares to 9,180 hectares over the next five years.

The Forest Development Plan for this decade along with the proposals of researchers was submitted for a round of approvals. In addition, the Minister of the Environment also approved the development plan’s report on the assessment of environmental and other significant impacts.
