Additional surveys planned on the Nabala karst area

A working group of the representatives of rural municipalities of the Nabala region and of the Ministry of the Environment met at the Ministry to discuss the need for additional surveys to obtain a clearer picture of the Nabala deposits.

Estonian Government approves the sale of AAUs to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg

At its session today (August 5, 2010) the Government of the Republic approved the sale of Estonia’s unused emission rights or Assigned Amount Units (AAUs) to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Under a Green Investment Scheme (GIS), the proceeds totaling 30 mil EUR will be invested into energy efficiency improvement of apartment houses.
Government to invest revenue from sales of emission credits in development of wind energy and public transport

At its session today, the Government of the Republic approved draft sale and purchase agreements for Estonia’s unused pollution quota AAUs (Assigned Amount Units), which are being entered into with the Kingdom of Spain and the Japanese bank Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC). With the entry into force of these transactions the government will have sold AAUs to the value of one billion kroons in 2010, which is twice as much as planned in the annual budget.
Baltic Ministers of the Environment meet in Latvia
