Minister Villu Reiljan talks about the balance in environment to kids

Mr Villu Reiljan, Minister of the Environment, will give a lecture about the Estonian environmental policy to students of the French Lyceum this morning.

Minister will talk of sustainable development. Energetics – oil shale, oil, natural gas and about the issues related to using those mineral resources, and about renewable energy sources such as water, wind and biomass.

Mr Villu Reiljan will speak of renewable resources, for example forest and fishes, for the conservation of which man must safeguard and cannot use them all for just today`s welfare.

Minister will also introduce the network of trans-European nature protection reserves Natura 2000. Natural diversity is also the subject – minister will explain that every plant, animal and bird has its place in the environment; there are no good birds-animals, nor bad ones.

The lecture of the Minister of the Environmet started at 9.35 o`clock and will end at 10.20 o`clock.
