Auction for fishing possibilities failed again

The auction for fishing possibilities for sprat and Baltic herring, which had been planned to be held in the Ministry of the Environment today, failed again as noone had registered to participate in the auction.

According to Mr. Ain Soome, Head of Fish Resources Department of the Ministry of the Environment, another auction for those same fishing possibilities will be organized before April 30. According to the valid procedure, another auction will be organized after April 30 for fishing possibilities that are "free" - i.e. if someone will not have registered for the use of their fishing possibilities by the stipulated deadline of April 30.

At the auction for fishing objects for sprat, 24 options would have been on sale today: eight objects of 300 tons each with the prime price of 12 000 Estonian kroon (EEK) (equivalent to approximately 770 EUR), seven objects of 100 t each with the prime price of 4000 EEK, and one object of 13 t with the prime price of 520 EEK.

The fishing possibilities for Baltic herring in the open part of the Baltic Sea and the Gulf of Finland would have been sold as 11 objects at the auction: seven objects of 100 tons each with the prime price of 4000 EEK, three objects of 10 t each with the prime price of 400 EEK, and one object of 13 t with the prime price of 520 EEK.

The fishing possibilities for Baltic herring in the Riga Bay would have been sold as 17 objects at the auction: 11 objects of 100 tons each with the prime price of 4000 EEK, five objects of 10 t each with the prime price of 400 EEK, and one object of 13 t with the prime price of 520 EEK.
