The Ministry of the Environment Found a Shelter for Birds
|
|
The
Ministry of the Environment placed a building in Keila (5 Piiri
Street) belonging to its area of government at the disposal of those
taking care of the birds.
At the moment, the employees of the
Ministry of the Environment are assisting in transporting the
equipment of the rehabilitation centre for birds, after which they
will help to take birds to the temporary rehabilitation sites and set
up the main rehabilitation centre.
A
special-purpose bird hospital is being set up in the building of the
Estonian Environment Information Centre in Keila. From now on, birds
will be taken to this hospital from both the pollution sites and
temporary rehabilitation sites in Tallinn. The bird rehabilitation
centre was brought along by members of the International Fund for
Animal Welfare who are contributing to the work of the centre. There
are work rooms, supply of electricity and water in the centre, all of
which are necessary for helping birds.
