According to the experts of the National Nature Conservation Centre, approximately 2,000 more birds are in danger.

Pollution samples have been taken to the laboratory of the Estonian Environmental Research Centre for analysis. The results should be obtained in a couple of days, allowing to determine more precisely the type of the polluting fuel.

At the same time, the Environmental Inspectorate is trying to find out the origin of the pollution. As it can be assumed that the pollution began from the sea, information is being gathered on vessels that passed through the area during the past few days.
