Removal of the Oil Pollution and Determination of the Causes Continue

Today, the rescue workers of Harjumaa and their helpers continued to remove the oil pollution discovered on the coast of Harjumaa on Saturday. Approximately 1.5 cubic metres of oil and 200 dead birds, mostly long-tailed ducks and goldeneyes, were collected during the day.

Besides the workers of the Rescue Service of Harjumaa, the Reserve Rescue Team of Tallinn and 10 employees of the Hiiu and West Districts of the National Nature Conservation Centre participated in removing the pollution.


180 dead birds and approximately one cubic metre of oil were collected from the polluted area on Sunday.
