Starting from Tuesday, from 12–15 April, the Ministry of the Environment will be visited by colleagues from Moldova and Ukraine, under development cooperation.
The members of the Moldavian and Ukrainian delegations are mainly interested in the topics of nature conservation, forestry and fisheries.
“Under the Estonian development aid cooperation, we are glad to welcome our colleagues from Moldova and Ukraine,” Allan Gromov, Deputy Secretary General of the Ministry of the Environment said. This time, the Ministry of the Environment and its divisions will introduce their best practices on the green side, because reforming of this field is still in its early stages in Ukraine and Moldova. “The countries wish to learn from our experience mainly in reorganization of forestry, hunting, nature conservation, environmental supervision, and they are also interested in how we have organized processing and publishing environmental information,” Gromov noted.
According to Gromov, probably the most interesting finding of our guests will be the map applications of the Land Board, enabling to get easy access to thorough information on protected areas, mineral resources, infrastructures, danger of floods, danger of major accidents, etc.
On Tuesday, the Moldova and Ukrainian delegations will participate in meetings in the Ministry of the Environment, the Estonian Environment Information Centre and the Land Board; on Wednesday, there will be a trip to Matsalu; on Thursday, a Maamess, and the Environmental Board will be visited in Tartu.
