Ministry of the Environment presented to the European Commission the National Allocation Plan for distributing carbon dioxide emission allowances

Ministry of the Environment presented the Estonian National Allocation Plan for distributing carbon dioxide emission allowances for 2008-2012 to the European Commission.


This document has been prepared on the basis of transparent methodology. Carbon dioxide emission allowances proposed in the allocation plan for the years 2008–2012, together with the reserve, were on average 14,329,495 tons of CO2 equivalents. This amount has been calculated on the basis of the last established emission data and the estimations on the Baltic energy market.


According to the procedure, the European Commission has three months to conduct the proceedings on the Estonian national allocation plan.
