On 23 February, Andres Talijärv will commence work as Deputy Secretary General on Nature Conservation and Forestry of the Ministry of the Environment.

"Andres Talijärv is well acquainted with both forestry and nature conservation as he has been working in these fields for a long time," Jaanus Tamkivi, the Minister of the Environment, said. "He has the knowledge and the experience necessary for creating stronger links between these fields and developing them in a balanced manner.

Andres Talijärv himself sees his primary task in strengthening the cooperation between different departments of the Ministry as well as its area of government and stakeholders. "We should set and agree on such objectives which take into consideration interests of the whole country," Talijärv said.
